The first round of voting in the “Chase Community Giving Contest,” ended on Dec. 12th. Out of over 500,000 causes, DGW finished in the top 100, and will advance to the second and final round of voting!
The second round of the free online vote doesn’t start until January 15th, BUT WE NEED HELP ORGANIZING FOR THE VOTE NOW!
Please volunteer an hour of your time to help DGW secure $100k (2nd-6th place) or even $1 million (1st place) for promising DMD research!

Scientists have never been so close to cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. And DGW has never competed for $1,000,000 in a free online vote.
We’re looking for 1,000 online and on the ground “Goslabi Captains” to help organize the DGW community, and to lead us to victory in the Chase Community Giving Challenge…..and beyond.
The first 500 Goslabi Captains will receive their choice of a free Goslabi T-shirt or Darius Goes West DVD.

WHAT DOES BEING A GOSLABI CAPTAIN ENTAIL?
Signing up to be a Goslabi Captain simply means that you feel as passionate about finding a cure for DMD as Darius and the crew, and that you want to play a leadership role in raising awareness for DMD research by raising awareness for Darius Goes West.
When you sign up we’ll send you a short list of the absolute best ways to help us win the vote. You can decide what level of participation you’re comfortable with once you receive the list.
WHAT WILL THE GOSLABI CAPTAINS PROGRAM BECOME AFTER THE VOTE?
Right now we are 100% focused on winning the Chase Giving Challenge. However, when the Challenge is over, we would like to develop the Goslabi Captains Program into something a bit more robust. Without getting into specifics, just know that we’d like to make the title something that you’d be proud to put on your college application or job resume. If this sounds interesting to you please let us know on the sign up sheet. If you just want to help with the vote, go ahead and sign up as well. You can leave the group when the vote is finished.

The Movie.
Accompanied by his eleven best friends, Darius Weems, a fifteen-year-old living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), leaves home for the first time in his life. The rowdy crew sets a course for California where they hope to convince MTV to customize Darius's wheelchair on the hit show, Pimp My Ride. Darius Goes West been enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people of all ages all around the world.
The Movement
Darius Goes West is more than a film. The continuing story of Darius, his crew, and the tens of thousands of supporters they have met in their travels can be experienced on this website. This site is continually updated with short videos, blog posts, and innovative initiatives that aim to affect a cure for DMD.
