DGW Weekend July 17-18: You’re Invited!

June 26, 2009

July 17-18, please join us for DGW Weekend in Athens, GA. We have festivities going on all weekend!

Friday, July 17, come check out our set up at the Student Presbyterian Center, 1250 S. Lumpkin Street, from 6-10 PM. There, you can challenge Darius in his favorite video games! Or check out the RV that’s traveled nearly 50,000 miles this year! (We apologize for any and all bad smells and/or general filthiness on the RV.) Or dunk a crew-member in a tank of water! Or toss a pie in a crew member’s face. Or help fight DMD by smashing a car with a baseball bat!!! And more!

Entertainment will be provided by Move 2 da Beat, The Robert Prior Band, and The Associates.

Saturday, July 18, please come to Athens Cine Theater at 234 W. Hancock Street. At 3 PM and 5 PM, D and the crew will show new footage from the this year on the road. Witness the insanity! At 7:30 PM, Darius Goes West will be screened in its entirety. Tickets are free! (To reserve a free ticket, please email dariusgoeswest@gmail.com or call DGW World Headquarters at 706-613-7237.)

Later Saturday, July 18, join us at The Classic Center Theatre, at 300 N Thomas Street, at 10 PM for music by three HUGE acts: Killer Mike, Pastor Troy, and The Nappy Roots! (Tickets, available at the Classic Center box office and at the door, will be $5, with an optional extra $1 donation to help rebuild the Georgia Theatre.)

ALL WEEKEND we will be having a HUGE SALE of DGW merchandise. At all three events, DGW shirts and DVDs will be available for $10—that’s half off the normal price! (Proceeds still go to the fight against DMD.) Also, be the first to collect the brand new, $25 Darius Bobblehead, available starting DGW weekend!

    Hi guys,

It’s your number one supporter, Erin. As many of you know, I’m a special education major and have hopes of becoming a disability services director of a university after graduate school. I have just launched a blog that is still getting started, but with the title “Empowering People and Changing Lives,” I hope that it will provide a wealth of resources for people who care for children, specifically those who are affected by disability. I will also be chronicling some personal experiences and will be sharing some thoughts about those along the way. Your blog has also been included in my blogroll, so I hope that together, we are able to collaborate to provide resources to those who are in similar situations. The blog’s address is http://empowerpeoplechangelives.blogspot.com. From there, you will be able to read the posts I have written, find out all about me, check out my blogroll, eventually look at many resources I have gathered, and contact me.

Look forward to reading many more of your posts! Happy blogging! Love you guys
