Crew Profile: Dylan Wilson

December 04, 2008

Question: What do the following people have in common?

1. Former University of Georgia guard Mike Mercer
2. Paul Vickers, a 70-year-old competitive long-jumper
3. Emily Harris, an eight-year-old beauty queen
4. Georgia Extreme Wrestling competitor “Red Dragon”

Answer: They’ve all served as subjects for DGW crew-member Dylan Wilson’s photojournalism.

Dylan was a cameraman on Darius Goes West.

He graduated from the University of Georgia with majors in Photojournalism and Film Studies.

Now he lives in New York City, where he works as a freelance photographer. His film background gives his still photography a sense of narrative; his pictures tell stories. There are some great ones on his web site.

Of course, Dylan is immensely proud of all of his work, especially Darius Goes West and the story he helped tell through the lens.

Whenever work and travel permits, Dylan meets up with the rest of the crew to aid in the million-DVD goal.

Film and photography have taken him to new places and introduced him to new things—from sporting events to hospitals, from Georgia Extreme Wrestling matches to Carnegie Hall, to New York and west with Darius.

We can’t wait to see where else it will take him.

That’s Dylan!

Stay tuned for Ben Smalley, up next on Darius Goes West: Crew Profiles!
