Next up on Darius Goes West: Crew Profiles, it’s DGW’s driver, Daniel Epting!

Daniel is the most private, shy crew-member.

Daniel likes to keep a low profile…

and sometimes it’s tough for him to come out of his shell.

Wait a second…that doesn’t describe Daniel at all!

Audience members who have seen Darius Goes West often laugh just when he introduces himself.

That’s because Daniel shares his enthusiasm, humor, and loyalty with everyone he meets.

Daniel graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in Speech Communications, and while his fashion sense is sometimes in doubt…

his love of people is not.

As DGW’s driver, Daniel quarterbacked the selection process for the RV we use on our year-long, million-DVD push. He’s driven literally every single one of the RV’s 14,000 + miles(and counting!)…

and he often sports the bed-head and tired eyes to prove it.

At this point, doctors’ best guess is that caffeine makes up two-thirds of Daniel’s blood.

Before this year-long push, Daniel worked as a contractor, concentrating on restoring old houses.

He also keeps himself active in Athens’ volunteer community, and he prides himself on knowing just about everyone.

“Luckily, I never get homesick…

I love meeting new people and doing new things…

so working with Darius is perfect for me.”

    Hey! You guys visited our school Savannah Country Day today. I am in the middle school. I am also in the girls chorus to- remember that? Yeah, we didn’t have a song ready at the moment :). I was so excited to see all of you at the quad! I couldn’t stop smiling :). I was not able to see the movie… the sixth graders didn’t get to but i did see the goslabi part :). I plan to go to the movie Saturday night but I am not sure I can go yet. My brother, Mitch is in the ninth grade… he said he talked to you all. I am REALLY want to by a T-shirt and a movie and anything else you guys have! I am REALLY hope I can!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun with the rest of your travels!

    hey you guys….it’s yolanda! ( i hope u haven’t forgotten me yet) When I first started reading this post about Daniel, I was like paha! shy?! Good one! But then i kept reading, and everything else was true. I just wanted to thank you guys so much for coming to Country Day. It was truly amazing and an honor seeing the whole entire school come together in support of you all & Darius. As the leader of our school Diversity group, seeing students truly enthralled and supportive of something so powerful as your project was truly heartwarming.( Rare as well, I don’t know how we are going to top you guys for our next speakers/guests…maybe you’ll just come back every year? Yeah…. i agree too. See you next year!) But anyways, thank you guys times a million!! It was tons of fun missing classes/hanging out with you guys all day yesterday & I cannot wait to be the 13th crew member (I’ll ask my dad to mail the $1000 check soon). See you guys tonight and thank you, thank you, THANK YOU (once again!). Oh and keep in touch, we would love to keep fund raising (Gosalbi Green Day) and getting updates from you guys!
