Crew Profile: Andrew Carson

Andrew is to DGW what Paul is to the Beatles: the cute one.
By our calculations, at least one third of DVD sales come from young women with crushes on Andrew and / or Darius.
But he’s a lot more than just a pretty face…
Andrew serves as a caregiver…
and he’s one of the guys who quarterbacks merchandise sales on the road.
He also uses his studies in economics in handling a lot of the business side of Darius Goes West.
Andrew’s flexibility is a key asset. He handles a lot of different roles…
and, when he contorts himself as much as he can, he hardly takes up any room on the RV.
After this year, Andrew will finish up his economics major at Davidson College, where he also studies Chinese. Gooo, ‘Cats!
Until then, Andrew’s enjoying life on the road and life with Darius.
Where else but with Darius could he meet both college basketball star Steph Curry…
AND President-elect Barack Obama?
Life with DGW exposes Andrew to new experiences…
incredible places…
and wonderful people.
After the year full-time with DGW and finishing school, we’ll see what new adventure Andrew comes up with.
Until then, we’ll bring out the b-ball…
open up the laptop…
and get down to work, and have some more fun.

The Movie.
Accompanied by his eleven best friends, Darius Weems, a fifteen-year-old living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), leaves home for the first time in his life. The rowdy crew sets a course for California where they hope to convince MTV to customize Darius's wheelchair on the hit show, Pimp My Ride. Darius Goes West been enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people of all ages all around the world.
The Movement
Darius Goes West is more than a film. The continuing story of Darius, his crew, and the tens of thousands of supporters they have met in their travels can be experienced on this website. This site is continually updated with short videos, blog posts, and innovative initiatives that aim to affect a cure for DMD.
