Awesome Night in Chicago! (pictures included)

September 19, 2008

Darius and crew got a chance to see the Windy City for a screening September 14 at the Gene Siskel Theater.

For many of us, it was our first time in Chicago.

The architecture was mesmerizing!

And at the screening Darius got to see his old Project Reach Art Teacher, Chelsea Hill, for the first time in years.

Meanwhile, Driver Dan was handing out keys to miniature RV’s left and right.

One of the coolest things about the screening and Q-and-A was that it all took place in a theater named for such a prominent figure in film.

Speaking of prominent figures….Here’s Arla Gomberg, one of our wonderful supporters. Her level of support was too much for our cameras to handle. Sorry for the blurry picture Arla, but we must thank you for buying a miniature tour bus without Daniel even forcing you to! And huge thanks to the anonymous Chicago families who sponsored this event. We are so grateful for your support!

After the screening, we checked out Millennium Park. We had a great time hanging out at “The Bean”.

There were a couple of other prominent figures (in a slightly different sense) involved in the evening….Andrew and and Sam were so inspired by their surroundings (and the big grass field) that they took their clothes off and did head first slides for what must have been hours.

Exhausted, we completed our Windy City tour with deep dish Chicago-style pizza.

Thanks to high DVD sales (see the previous blogs) we also had room in our fridge to keep some of the leftovers.

Arla, Chelsea, and many other folks in Chi-Town expressed interest in organizing one or more screenings in spring. In response to that interest we will employ what is perhaps the most dramatic picture we have ever taken.

Chicago…we will be back.
